Bentley Expands Portfolio of Electrical Infrastructure Software

Bentley has long been recognized as a provider of quality software for engineering of infrastructure such as roads, rail, dams, buildings and more. Recently, Bentley has quietly developed and acquired software for engineering, design, modeling, and simulation of electrical infrastructure. You can read more about any of the below at Bentley Software Solutions | Archway Systems

Some of the highlights are:

SPIDA Calc

This is a software analysis and design software for designing poles for distribution of electricity. It is very popular with engineers and designers of overhead electricity and communicaions poles. SPIDAcalc is the ideal tool for electric utilities, telecommunication and broadband providers, engineering and construction contractors, consulting firms, and other industry professionals.

SPIDAsilk

A companion product to SPIDAcalc, SPIDAsilk is a very popular software analysis and design software for designing cables that are supported by poles for distribution of electricity and communications.

EasyPower

This is a very comprehensive software for engineering, design and analysis of complex electrical distribution systems within a building or plant. It can design or select circuit components from large libraries and analyze circuits for potentional short circuit and proper electrical load balancing. It includes everything from import of one line diagrams, to selection of components to simulation of load flow, transient stability, and short circuit analysis.

OpenUtilities Substation

Brings together the design of the circuits in a substation including protection and control and expands that to the design, 3D modeling, and analysis of the substation buildings. This software is used by some of the largest electric utilities in the US.

Promis.e

A circuit design software used around the world to design machine controls as well as electrical systems for process plants, mines, and rail signaling.

PowerLine Systems

This software can model an entire electrical gridfor a city and then simulate scenarios including an ice storm to predict which structures will fail before it happens. PLS solves the problem of collection of data about the grid through use of drones and AI.

Talon and Pointivo

Brand new technology for collection of data about electrical and communication systems.
